Here at Central London 4x4 our clean, tidy and secure workshop is capable of carrying out all repairs, from changing a light bulb to complete engine rebuilds or from tightening a loose fixing to a full, body-off refurbishment.

As previously mentioned, faults can be spotted at regular services, some of the more common of these can be:

Freelander: Viscous coupling problems. This unit apportions power between front and rear wheels … mounted in the middle of the rear propshaft, when faulty it may result in unusual rear tyre wear or IRD failure.

Freelander: IRD (intermediate reduction drive) failure. This is the gearbox that supplies power to the rear wheels. This is often caused by the viscous coupling failing.

Freelander: 1.8 petrol engines, cylinder head gasket failure. Check coolant tank for signs of oil contamination. Main agents will usually replace the complete engine, we can often reclaim your old cylinder head saving you thousands of pounds.

All vehicles fitted with air suspension. Minor leaks, a faulty relay or timer can cause the pump to run for excessive times, resulting in a costly replacement.

300 Tdi engines: Water pump to cylinder block gasket leak. This slow coolant loss often goes unnoticed and can lead to the cylinder head overheating and failure of the head gasket and may even render the cylinder head unserviceable. Generally speaking if the fault is spotted quickly it will be easier and therefore cheaper to repair.

The majority of servicing is carried out within a day, allowing you to drop your vehicle off on your way to work and make use of the excellent access to public transport. We are open till 6PM so collecting your vehicle at the end of the day on your way home should not present a problem. If your vehicle for some reason needs to stay here overnight it will be locked inside our secure building.

The Rovacom system we use represents state of the art cutting edge diagnostics technology, which enables Central London 4x4 to locate fault codes that may be logged in your vehicles ECU and diagnose what has created them. We can then identify the cause of the fault, possibly a faulty sensor or component failure and effect a repair, clear the fault code and reset the ECU.

All our servicing is carried out to Landrover's exacting schedules and are individually priced to each models needs. We use Genuine parts and top quality lubricants on all our services.
However, if your budget or needs dictate, original parts can be substituted for OEM or high quality pattern parts which can make a considerable saving.
